Autumn 100 2026 takes place on Saturday, 17 October 2026, starting at 09:00.
What time does Autumn 100 start?
Autumn 100 starts at 09:00 from Goring Village Hall, High Street, Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire RG8 9AG.
Where does Autumn 100 start and finish?
Autumn 100 starts at Goring Village Hall, High Street, Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire RG8 9AG and finishes at Goring Village Hall, High Street, Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire RG8 9AG.
How many miles is Autumn 100?
Autumn 100 is 100 miles (160.9km).
How much elevation gain does Autumn 100 have?
Autumn 100 has approximately 5000ft of total elevation gain. Flat for a hundred-miler: 5,000ft (1,500m) across 100 miles, which is around half what the Lakeland 100 packs into a similar distance. But the profile is lopsided by design — the two Thames Path spurs are almost dead flat towpath, and essentially all of the climbing sits in the two Ridgeway spurs. That is what makes it a realistic first hundred, and also why runners who treat the flat river sections as free miles tend to pay for it on the Ridgeway later.
How much does Autumn 100 cost to enter?
Entry is £220, or £222 for runners unaffiliated to UKA. Entries opened at 10:00 on 8 November 2025, first come first served. Qualification is a 50-mile race completed in under 15 hours between 1 January 2021 and race day. Volunteers who gave 10 or more hours in 2025 receive guaranteed entry.
How can I track a runner at Autumn 100?
Centurion run live tracking and published splits, which the four-spoke format makes unusually easy to follow — every runner returns to Goring four times.

Full Autumn 100 Route Breakdown
A hundred miles built as four 25-mile out-and-backs, all radiating from Goring Village Hall. Spur one runs north along the Thames Path to Little Wittenham and back; spur two climbs onto the Ridgeway east to Swyncombe Farm and back; spur three takes the Ridgeway west to Chain Hill and back; spur four returns to the Thames Path, south to Reading and back. The two river spurs are flat and fast, the two Ridgeway spurs carry almost all of the climbing, and the format means the whole field passes through the same village hall four times.

- The full Centurion mandatory kit list: mobile phone, 1 litre water capacity, survival blanket (1.4m x 2m), waterproof jacket rated 10,000mm+ with sealed seams, whistle, headtorch and backup light (100+ lumens each), warm hat, gloves, a dry long-sleeved emergency layer, and a cup
- Two working light sources — mid-October darkness is roughly twelve hours long
- A drop bag at Goring Village Hall, restocked mentally for all four returns
- A change of socks and shoes for the halfway point: the Thames Path holds mud after rain
- Proof of your 50-mile qualifier, if asked at registration
- Warm layers for the small hours on the Ridgeway, which is exposed and colder than the river
- Nutrition that still works at 3am, tested on a night run rather than assumed
Training Strategy for Autumn 100
20-24 weeks is the realistic window for a first 100-mile ultra, assuming you already have a marathon's worth of base behind you. The block that matters is back-to-back long weekends — a long run on Saturday followed by a second, slower one on Sunday — which builds time on feet and teaches you to run on tired legs without the recovery cost of one enormous day. Practise your race-day nutrition on every one of them; at this distance the stomach fails before the legs do.
This is a largely flat course, so most of your long runs can mirror that — flat and steady, building time on feet rather than hill strength.
Drop volume hard across the final three to four weeks — further out and steeper than a marathon taper, because a 30-mile training day costs weeks of recovery, not days. Keep some easy running and a little terrain-specific work in, but the goal is to reach Goring Village Hall, High Street, Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire RG8 9AG with fresh feet and a rested gut rather than one more long run in the bank.
Lock in your target pace using the interactive splits calculator below — no official pacers are confirmed for this event, so a pace band on your watch is the more reliable option.
Test your race-day fuel and hydration plan on your long training runs, not for the first time on race day — check the Race Day Checklist below for what's actually on this course.
100-Mile Ultra Nutrition & Fueling Plan
Increase carbohydrate modestly across the last two or three days and keep fibre low in the final day. Sleep in the week before matters as much as anything you eat.
A 09:00 start is civilised for a hundred — eat a full carbohydrate breakfast two to three hours before, of something you have used on long runs.
Sixteen aid stations across 100 miles means one roughly every six miles, so you never need to carry much. The harder problem is the night: appetite drops sharply in the small hours, so plan real food and hot drinks at the Goring returns, and carry something you know you can still swallow at 4am.
Eat as soon as you stop, and again a few hours later. Recovery from 100 miles takes weeks; the first 24 hours of eating and sleeping set the tone.
Autumn 100 Charity Places 2026
No formal charity-place scheme is published. Runners are free to fundraise on their own entry.
Lead with your personal story — explain why the charity matters to you. Personal connection generates 3x more support than a generic link broadcast.
Share key training milestones on Instagram (first 10-miler, peak week, race week) with your fundraising link in bio. Publicly thanking donors prompts secondary gifts!

Goring-on-Thames / Streatley
At the start, the finish, and the hub of all four spurs. Walkable to everything, and on the train line. The obvious choice for crew.
A small village with limited rooms, which go early for race weekend.
Reading
Plenty of hotels and excellent rail links, and it sits at the far end of the fourth spur.
Around 10 miles from Goring, so it means driving or a train each way.
Wallingford
A pleasant market town near the northern Thames Path spur, quieter than Reading and closer than Oxford.
Not on the race route itself, and no direct rail link.
Travel & Logistics
Goring & Streatley station is a short walk from the village hall, on the Great Western line between Reading and Oxford — one of the easiest hundred-mile races in the country to reach without a car.
No Park & Ride. Parking is local to Goring — check the current race information for what is available and where.
None — the route uses the Thames Path, the Ridgeway and other rights of way.
Spectator & Cheer Guide
Goring Village Hall is the answer. Because every spur starts and ends there, supporters can see their runner four separate times from one chair, which is close to unique among British hundreds.
You do not need to. Stay at Goring. If you want a second point, Streatley and the early Thames Path are a short walk away.
Centurion run live tracking and published splits, which the four-spoke format makes unusually easy to follow — every runner returns to Goring four times.
