Run Huskisson - Husky Running Festival 2.5km Fun Run starts at Hawke Street (start) to White Sands Park (finish), Huskisson, NSW. We haven't been able to place those on a map accurately enough to show one — a pin in the wrong place is worse than no pin.

Full Run Huskisson - Husky Running Festival 2.5km Fun Run Route Breakdown

Run Huskisson has grown since 2011 into one of Australia's largest coastal running festivals, drawing 7,000+ runners to Jervis Bay each year. All five distances start on Hawke Street and finish at White Sands Park in the seaside village of Huskisson. The 10km, 5km and 2.5km Fun Run stay on road and footpath, while the Half Marathon and Marathon extend the route onto grass sections as well, taking in the town's crystal-clear water views along the way. Five aid stations are spread along the course, offering water, hydration products, coke, lollies and gels at the longer stations. The course is largely flat coastal running, with the Marathon and Half Marathon carrying only modest elevation change. Wheelchairs aren't permitted due to narrow pathways, and prams are welcome only in the 2.5km Fun Run.

Training Strategy for Run Huskisson - Husky Running Festival 2.5km Fun Run

Standard Training Window

6-10 weeks is a solid window for a 1.55-mile race. Combine a weekly long run with threshold work so you can hold pace over the full distance.

Terrain Specificity

This is a largely flat course, so most of your long runs can mirror that — flat and steady, building time on feet rather than hill strength.

The Taper Phase

Ease off mileage in the final week, keeping a couple of short, sharp race-pace efforts to stay fresh. Arrive at Hawke Street (start) to White Sands Park (finish), Huskisson, NSW fresh, energized, and primed — not fit, fresh.

Pacing Execution

Lock in your target pace using the interactive splits calculator below — no official pacers are confirmed for this event, so a pace band on your watch is the more reliable option.

Fuel & Hydration Prep

Test your race-day fuel and hydration plan on your long training runs, not for the first time on race day — check the Race Day Checklist below for what's actually on this course.

1.55-Mile Nutrition & Fueling Plan

2-3 Days Prior

A normal diet is fine. There is no need to carb-load for a race of this length.

Race Morning

Eat a carbohydrate-focused breakfast two to three hours before the start, and stick to something you've already tested in training rather than trying anything new.

On-Course Fueling

No on-course fuel is needed at this distance for most runners — water stations are the usual provision.

Post-Race Recovery

A mix of carbohydrate and protein in the hour or so after finishing supports recovery.
