Also this weekend

The December weekend combines the open, mass-participation 100km and Sprint races with the invite-only Age-Group World Championships (qualified via a top-10 age-group/gender finish at any T100 race worldwide, or National Federation selection) and a Youth/Junior Super Sprint, plus non-triathlon community 5K and 1K runs — all in one weekend, since this also doubles as the pro season's World Championship Final.

Sprint

0.75km 20km 5km

The 2025 guide's course-summary table lists the same 20km bike figure as the 100km per-lap distance, which reads like a template artifact rather than a confirmed Sprint-specific distance — worth double-checking closer to the event.

Youth/Junior Super Sprint

0.4km 10km 2.5km

Two laps of swim and bike, plus a run to the finish.

Leg 1 of 3

Swim — 2km

A single point-to-point lap in the Arabian Gulf, starting at Lusail Ferry Dock with a rolling wave start from a pontoon, swum clockwise to a swim exit ramp up onto the Corniche and a roughly 200m run to transition.

Venue
The Arabian Gulf, off Lusail Ferry Dock
Elevation gain
No official figure published — see notes above
Surface
Sea — open water.

Wetsuit: Per the 2025 athlete guide, applying World Triathlon rules: mandatory below 15.9°C, prohibited above 24.6°C. Expected December water temperature is around 22-23°C — inside the optional band, but close enough to the mandatory threshold that the organiser confirms the official reading one hour before the start.

Leg 2 of 3

Bike — 80km

Four 20km laps looping through Lusail's streets and waterfront, passing landmarks including Lusail Stadium. Flat throughout — this is reclaimed, purpose-built city terrain with no meaningful elevation.

Venue
Lusail city streets and waterfront
Elevation gain
No official figure published — see notes above
Surface
Closed/marshalled road — flat.

Non-drafting

Leg 3 of 3

Run — 18km

Three laps around Lusail's waterfront district, flat throughout, finishing at Lusail Plaza.

Venue
Lusail waterfront
Elevation gain
No official figure published — see notes above
Surface
Closed road — flat.

Transitions

A single transition at Lusail Car Park serves both T1 (swim-to-bike) and T2 (bike-to-run); bike check-in is the day before racing only, with overnight security.

Where T100 Qatar starts and finishes

T100 Qatar starts at Lusail Plaza (race village, finish, awards) and Lusail Ferry Dock (swim start), Lusail City, Qatar and finishes at The Arabian Gulf, off Lusail Ferry Dock. We haven't been able to place those on a map accurately enough to show one — a pin in the wrong place is worse than no pin.

These are the start and finish points, not the route. Verus doesn't hold course files for this race, and drawing a line between two pins would be a guess you might end up training on.

Entry & Ballot

Direct entry summary

2027 entry is at 'Priority Access' sign-up stage only, with no pricing published. Registration for the more immediate 2026 edition (10-12 December 2026) uses dynamic, demand-based pricing rather than a fixed fee — 'prices adjust in real-time based on demand,' per the official registration platform.

Ballot policy

Not a ballot for the open races — priority access sign-up now, full registration to follow. The Age-Group World Championships is qualification-only, not an open entry.

Age requirement

Not published for the open 100km/Sprint races in the sources checked. Age-Group World Championship entrants must qualify via a top-10 age-group/gender finish elsewhere and gain National Federation endorsement.

Charity Places

No charity-place scheme was found published for this event.

Race Day Info & Checklist

On the day

  • This is the pro season's World Championship Final as well as the mass-participation weekend — held in Qatar every December through at least 2029 under a five-year Visit Qatar/PTO/World Triathlon/Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation agreement.
  • Race pack (2025): a wristband, bib, sticker sheet, colour-coded swim cap, race-number tattoos, and three transition bags (Swim-to-Bike black, Bike-to-Run red, After-Race white); the Age-Group World Championships pack adds a category tattoo worn on the calf, and requires a mandatory national trisuit check at bike check-in.
  • Timing chip worn on the left ankle, issued at bike check-in — a lost or unreturned chip cost US$75 in 2025.
  • On-course nutrition (2025): water and Pocari Sweat electrolyte drink on both bike and run, plus gels; run aid stations add cola, snacks and ice. One bike aid station (hit on all four laps); two double-sided run aid stations.
  • Non-drafting bike leg: a 12m draft zone with 25 seconds to complete a pass. 2025 penalties: 100km 1 minute for each of a first and second offence before disqualification on a third; Sprint 25 seconds before disqualification on a second. Note the Age-Group World Championships guide explicitly states drafting calls specifically cannot be protested, unlike other infringements.
  • Every finisher gets a medal, collected on race day; age-group podiums (top 3 male/female per 5-year band) receive a placing medal at a stage ceremony, with Age-Group World Championship winners required to wear their national uniform to collect it.
  • British Triathlon confirms 20 Qatar Age-Group World Championship qualifying slots per age group for 2027 (up from 10 in 2026) — though this figure comes from the National Federation side rather than being stated directly in the T100/PTO materials reviewed.

Checklist

  • Wetsuit, goggles and swim cap for the Arabian Gulf swim, with the mandatory/optional call confirmed on the morning
  • Bike, helmet (mandatory) and bike shoes, checked in the day before racing — there is no race-morning bike check-in
  • Run shoes and nutrition for the 80km bike and 18km run legs
  • Your national trisuit if racing the Age-Group World Championships specifically — it is checked at bike check-in
  • Light kit for December Gulf conditions — warm days (around 24°C) but genuinely cool evenings by regional standards
  • A meeting point agreed with family/friends at Lusail Plaza for afterwards

Transport, Spectating & Where to Stay

Transport

Doha and Lusail are connected by the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram; exact race-weekend transit guidance for spectators was not published in the sources checked.

Primary race-day parking in 2025 was the Lusail South Parking lot, accessed via a QR-coded vehicle route.

The bike course closes streets through Lusail for the duration of the race; exact closure windows are confirmed closer to race day.

Spectator guide

Lusail Plaza covers the finish and awards; the Corniche near the swim exit and the lapped bike/run course through Lusail give repeated views of athletes.

Lusail is a planned, walkable waterfront district — the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram are the practical ways to reach it without a car.

Where to stay

Lusail

+ Walking distance to the race village, transition and the finish at Lusail Plaza.

A newer, still-developing district with a narrower hotel selection than central Doha.

Doha (West Bay / The Pearl)

+ A much wider choice of hotels, with metro or tram access into Lusail.

Not walkable — plan on the metro/tram or a taxi on race morning.
